World Hypertension Day 2024
There is no permanent cure for high blood pressure
High blood pressure often has no symptoms, silently damaging blood vessels and leading to severe health issues like stroke, heart attack, and renal failure.
"While there is no permanent cure for high blood pressure, some rare cases have reversible causes such as renal artery stenosis and certain tumors, which can be treated to reverse hypertension," Dr. Ashwani Mehta, Senior Consultant Cardiologist at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, told Financial Express.com.
Dr. Mehta also mentioned that treating obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, characterized by nighttime snoring and daytime drowsiness, can help control blood pressure.
